Tech companies big and small always seem to be jockeying for who has the best culture. With all the focus on keeping Austin weird as the city’s population booms, we thought we’d check in on those office cultures on everyone’s favorite celebration of the weird and macabre: Halloween.
We asked local companies to show off their best Halloween photos and tell us about their party. Here’s what they sent us.
Michael Newman, recruiting WP Engine
"The WP Engine team always carves out a good time on Halloween. It’s a spooktacular opportunity to channel creativity. This year the fun has expanded so now, team members and their families will eat, drink and be scary with games, trick or treat throughout our various offices and have a spooky decorated desk contest.”
Elisa Goldberg, People and Culture WayBlazer
Halloween is a Blazer favorite holiday because it allows us to invoke our spirit animals to conquer any task. Blazer's wear their chosen spirit guide shirts and call upon them to give us strength and power to win, whether it be a work related task or inter-company wiffleball.”
Sprinklr takes the Built In Austin prize for best movie costume, but maybe we're just partial to The Dude.
Matt Hardy, Head of Sales RunTitle
“We dress up every year, grab a few cases of beer, split into teams, and head over to Peter Pan mini golf for an afternoon.”
Tina Heileman, PR Manager Favor
"When it comes to whipping up creative costumes, the Favor team has the holiday on lock. Although Favor employees have always taken it upon themselves to dress up for the occasion, this year we'll be celebrating with an official Halloween costume contest. Winners will be awarded with Favor swag (and of course the title of best costume) during the our weekly "Beer Friday" get together at Favor HQ."
Lindsay Glancz, HR Specialist Q1Media
“We’re always looking for a reason to let loose and get creative here at Q1Media. Halloween provides us ample excuse to glob on the gore and be even more extravagant than usual. We have an annual costume contest with prizes for Best Individual and Best Team costumes. Everyone gets involved and it’s tons of fun!”
