Alumni Led Workshop: Machine Learning In the Cloud
** This event is now on waitlist ***
The cloud enables applied machine learning at scale for businesses both large and small. At Amazon Web Services, their goal is to provide a platform that puts machine learning into the hands of everyday developers. In this session and hands-on workshop, we will review the three layers of the AWS machine learning stack, from deep-learning frameworks to pre-trained AI services, with an emphasis on Amazon SageMaker. Amazon SageMaker is a fully-managed machine learning service that allows developers and data scientists to quickly build, train, and deploy ML models from their browser.
This talk will cover how Amazon thinks about machine learning and review the offerings and business advantages of using AWS for machine learning in the cloud. We will also provide an opportunity to see the ease of AWS machine learning yourself with a hands-on SageMaker workshop in your AWS account, within the AWS Free-Tier.
Note: Bring a laptop if you'd like to participate in the hands-on portion. Knowledge of Python and Anaconda-installed packages helpful but not required for the hands-on portion.
*** Lecture will begin promptly at 6:45pm ***
