Director, Planning & Monetization

We are looking for a Director, Planning and Monetization to join our FP&A and Business Analytics (FBA) team at our RetailMeNot headquarters in the heart of sunny, downtown Austin.
Our FBA team provides cross-functional decision support to partners across the company. From business operators to the CFO and Executive team, we offer valuable analysis to better inform management decision-making, evaluate initiatives that contribute to strategic plans, and develop important metrics to understand and evaluate business performance.

As Director, you will be responsible for three key areas:
a) Strategic Planning and Annual Budgeting: you will play leading role in driving an efficient, insightful planning and annual budgeting process
b) Pricing Strategy and Deals Desk: you will collaboratively develop Pricing Strategy, and ensure price realization thru Deals Desk oversight
c) Sales Compensation Strategy: you also have responsibility for Sales Comp plan design and administration

You will also lead a team and contribute on special projects. The role reports to VP, Global FP&A.

Who You Are

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Operations Research, Statistics, Mathematics or a related discipline - MBA or commensurate experience highly preferred
  • You have 5+ years of experience either in strategic advisory FP&A, Management Consulting, or Business Operations role
  • You've got a deep understanding of planning, budgeting and forecasting, pricing and revenue management concepts and methodologies - experience working in e-Commerce, a plus
  • You have strong organizational, planning, quantitative and analytical skills; strategic and creative thinking with keen business judgment, and ability to see the "big picture"
  • You have experience synthesizing independently generated data points into a cohesive analysis, and clearly communicate the results of complex analyses to a wide audience in a credible fashion, including experience in presenting to senior leadership
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to cultivate productive working relationships and influence at all levels of the organization
  • You have outstanding spreadsheet skills, experience with SQL database a plus
  • You love working in a high-energy environment with dedication to excellence 

What You'll Do

  • You'll own RMN's strategic and core financial planning activities including annual plans, quarterly and interim forecasts
  • You will collaborate with operating leaders on strategic issues and assumptions to incorporate into the planning process and how general market conditions influence the Company’s forecasts
  • You'll act as a thought-partner in providing analytical insight and perspectives to the leadership team
  • You'll drive comprehensive assessment of variances, highlight changes to the respective functional leadership teams, and work with them to continuously refine the strategies
  • You'll optimize pricing strategy and architecture thru a detailed understanding of the market landscape, product offerings, customer value propositions and business models
  • You'll design Sales Compensation plans and establish targets in alignment with our financial goals
  • You'll prepare analyses, reports and presentations for senior management, and our parent holding company, in an accurate and timely fashion
  • You'll support the development of the strategic direction of FP&A to meet the business demands
